VLC Must Be Installed First
Before following this guide, make sure VLC is already installed on your device. Don't have it? You can get it using the Downloader app with code 7487197 — or see our Downloader Codes page for more.
This setting is particularly important if you are on the free imPlayer account — VLC is required to play Movies and Series content reliably.

Open the imPlayer app

Press Left to access the Side Menu

Click App Menu

Click Settings

Click Movies & Series

Click Default VOD & Series Player

Select VLC External
Done! VLC is now set as your default player for all Movies and Series in imPlayer. Content will now open in VLC automatically.
If content still isn't playing correctly after setting VLC as the default, try clearing the cache on both imPlayer and VLC. See our Clear Cache guide for how to do this.
